aunt's wedding dinner at times square~~
continued with 2nd round at loft upstairs =)

would you even try having a night out[2nd round after wedding dinner] to the clubs with parents,cousins,aunts,uncles.........

it was a bomb!!!

DEBATE DEBATE~~

started round 2 for the debate at 8.30 right after the assembly....
once again....the adrenalin rush..whoooosh....
it was a stronger team indeed....
well....again we were the opposition & the motion was about 'parents should be punished for their children's crimes'

so we had to oppose on that......if i would say....
it was indeed to our advantage.....
the government team did give a fight which pressured us alot....
the adrenalin rush & rapid heart beat was greater than yesterday......
the fight was really really close as the comments where given....
before the results were being announced we had a thought that we were on the losing end......
with only a mere hope that we wouldnt lose with marks too far behind......

entering the competition with no hope of winning & only with hope for the participating marks n certificate......
we actually won 2 rounds!
bt the happiest part of joining the competition was not bout beating 2 teams in a row...
bt it was bout the experience n to get to know new friends...
every1 gave their best fight.....

ok....passes round 1 n fought thru round 2.....
now we have another round of stress! =(
had our recess......
returned to class at 10.30 to read some papers...
i found an article with the topic on 'women with bigger breast appear to be smarter'
the research was made n found that because of more hormones production,thus bigger bust can result in a bigger brain.....so guys...if u r finding for a smarter gf or wife.....find 1 with brighter headlights =)


ok back to my topic.....
3rd round started at 11.30....
our opponents appears to be form 2 juniors....
it may sound easy bt they appear to be school debaters.....
having more experience than any of our team members.....
the pressure set on us were even greater.....

teams were matched up...
positions were given...
we had a change given....
we were given the post as the government!!
the motions given & dammit!!!!
1. THBT gay marriage should be legal....
2.president barak obama shouldnt have been given the noble prize of peace...
3.human clonning should be permited....

O.O any of this topic would not benefit us at all!!
finally...with biology knowledge we chose no.3 which was the 1st choice of the opposition.....

disscussion...disscussion,discussion,disscussion
sweating not on the out side bt at the inside......
boiling more than 100º
when disscussion time was over...
we came to realise that our team do not have enough points to argue on.....
thank to the basic biology knowledge that the form2's did not have....
the fight was intense.....

we already know we were loosing....
bt the worst part was.....
we lost by 1 mark!!!
OMG!
1 mark caused us everything...
we could have won 3 rounds in a row.........

welll.......
the marks didnt really counted to me coz all i really was concern bout was the experience....



hopefuly with the experience we will improve on our speaking skills for MUET paper...
if we r able to speak for 7 minutes.....2 minutes wouldnt be a problem at all....
it also boosts courage....




so to u all out there.....
being in a debate is a very good experience.....
it may even be addictive.....
so why not give it a try =)

1st TIME DEBATING =)

chickened out last minute yesterday from the workshop [giving reasons like 'i have no courage to say that i have the courage' & 'i dont think i can do it in any way']

well i was fotunate enough that 1 of my classmate/team mate went for the workshop dispite me fleeing home =)

so i was thinking that hey i have to post for the form 6 cocuricular society so i mind as well get my self a certificate n some participating marks out of it.....besides the will ony be 8 teams [including my team] compiting.....so why not give it a try after the long persuading coming from my team mate....since there will be no harm done even if we do not win anything we still get certificates for participating =)

*anouncement*: participants of the debating competition pls be at the lecture hall after the assembly...
*anxiety boiling* : are u really positive u wanna take part [i ask]
*stares* : dont be such a chicken juz do it coz we can manage it [replies]
*stones at the staircase*: after 5 secs.....OK FINE! lets do it =S

puts stuff in class then heads to lecture hall......
well to my expectation.....there were mearly even 1...2...3..4...5! people in the hall....
so there wasnt really ony1 taking part after all.....
after long hours of waiting......briefing.......joking around.....the mock debate....we were allowed to go for our refreshments......

i some how still do not understand what is a cluster school suppose to be like....
how to define cluster quality.....
how should i react when it does not reach up to my expectations.....
it's the 3rd time it happened sice i entered the school on the 10th of july n i'm not sure did it happen b4 i even came in.....
the school is very prone to face water crisis almost every month =S
is this what u call cluster quality??

after the refreshments...we were called to gather at the hall once again....this time it's to ask us to remove our belongings n move to the library due to some reasons n the form 3 students needed to use the hall.......

well.....the worst part isnt having to move around the school.....it is becoz the school library is located on the 4th floor!! so this made us climb 4 stories of stairs to realise that there was not electricity supply there bcoz the main switch is in another class room n needs to be turned on =S
the worst part is only 1 of the air-cond was working in the whole library! n even tho the main switch was already turned on....there was still no current flow in the library =S so again......we had to move to other class room that are not occupied!

this is what u call cluster school? lol
i think the school is better off without the title!
poor water n electricity supply...........

finaly we settled down in 1 of the class rooms to give out the motions.....groupings.....n the titles....
moved into respective groups n classes.....
started to discuss bout our topic.....
not realising 30 mins was already up.....
DAMMIT!

well...so we all moved to our respective places....
our topic was on 'students should take parenting classes'
n i was on the opposition......n i was the whip speaker....huhuhu~~ means i will be tha last to speak =)

when the debate started.....every1's face started to turn to (0.0) (*.*)
the anxiety n adrenalin rush woosh~~~!
my mouth turned dry....
my hans start sweating......

finally it was my turn (O_O).........
when i started talking my heart was as if it was gonna throw it self out of my throat!!
7 mins was not easy to speak for.....
i only manage to speak for 6.21 mins.....thank god.....& fortunately i was able to answer all the POIs given =)


phewww.....it was all over n the scores were being announced....

it wan a really great debate as both teams gave their all =)

i'm starting to feel not butterflies but worms =S...........
hope that i'll bbe able to give my best!!give my all for the debate 2moro......
